Abstract of bid on plant producing 180,000 t/ann aviation gasoline and 30,000 t/ann liquid gases from brown coal by catalytic pressure hydrogenation, for Russia

The bid was divided into ten major categories by this report, and each of these was discussed. The basis of the bid consisted of the fact that the bid covered the furnishing of all equipment. The use of the process experience and patents was the subject of a separate agreement. The second category was the gasoline plant. The process was discussed and the departments of this process were: coal preparation, paste press for 700 atm, gas-circulation pump for 700 atm, coal stalls for 700 atm, circulating gas wash for 700 atm, gas circulating and injection pumps for 325 atm, gasoline stalls for 325 atm, residue centrifuging, residue carbonization, decompression, protecting-gas plant, distillation, stabilization units, storage tanks, and pipelines. Gas production, power production, general and auxiliary installations, and general arrangement were discussed in the same manner as the gasoline plant. The general arrangement topic stated the area required was about 222 acres. Prices and weights were based on materials being supplied by Germany. A detailed summary of prices and weights was given. The remaining topics were conditions of payment and delivery, consumption figures and diagrams and flowsheets. 4 figures.
