World crude oil yield may top 30 million BPD in 1965
A chart shows that world crude production continues to rise. It is expected to rise by 2 million bpd or 7.1% this year over 1964, and to exceed 30 million bpd for the first time. At 28,111,744 bpd, the output increased by 2,148,000 bpd, or 8.3% in 1964. As previously predicted, the year's total exceeded 10 million bbl for the first time. Most significant increases last year were in Canada, Russia, Libya, and the Middle East. Two tables are given, as follows: (1) world crude oil production, by countries, 1964 and 1963; and (2) crude oil production of world, U.S., and countries outside U.S., by years (1945 to 1965). The U.S. produced 27.3% of the world's total crude yield last year, and is expected to produce 26.0% of the 1965 total.
