A study of the uses of x-rays as motivating stimuli: Progress report for the period September 1, 1962-May 31, 1963

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6693441
Ionizing radiation was used as a motivating stimulus. X-rays that were administered simultaneously with the ingestion of saccharin flavored water cause an aversion to the saccharin solution on subsequent preference tests. We have demonstrated that dose rate can vary from 2.5 r per hour to 400 r per minute in conditioning an aversion to saccharin. 2 refs., 1 tab.
