Guide to 1970 wood residue volumes in the 125 Tennessee Valley counties

A survey conducted by the Division of Forestry, Fisheries, and Wildlife Development showed that wood-using industries generated 3.4 million tons of residue in the Tennessee Valley in 1970. Sawmills produced 1.9 million tons, pulp and paper mills 0.7 million tons, and the furniture industries 0.3 million tons. The type, condition, and amount of wood and bark residues produced are reported. This information is designed for use by industries planning expansion or new development which will utilize residues as raw material.
