A combination bactericide-corrosion inhibitor having synergistic effects and particularly useful in subterranean formations is described. The combination inhibitor- bactericide consists of a quaternary ammonium compound and an aminehydroxy organic acid condensation product. The quaternary ammonium compound may be, for example, an alkyl benzene substituted tri-methyl ammonium chloride and the condensation product may be the reaction product of salicylic acid and an N-alkyl polyalkylene polyamine.
