Magnetic breakdown and thermoelectric power in niobium

We measured the transverse magnetoresistance and thermoelectric power of a niobium sample with orientation (001) in fields up to 150 kOe. A large thermoelectric-power signal and its oscillations were observed at H parallel (110). Coherent magnetic breakdown in the region of the conical point contacts located on the GAMMAP symmetry lines, is invoked to explain the results.
