This is a sand-consolidation method which involves injecting into the formation a plastic of the epoxy resin type and is independent of the temperature characterizing the formation. A mixture is injected into the well which contains by weight (1) about 40 to 95% of an epoxy resin with a molecular weight between 400 and 700 and a viscosity above about 400 cp at formation temperature, and (2) a liquid reactive diluent in an amount within the range 5 to 60% to reduce the viscosity of the epoxy resin below 400 cp and above 25 cp at formation temperature. A flushing fluid, immiscible with the resin component but miscible with the reactive diluent, is next injected. A curing agent to harden or solidify the resin is injected following the flushing operation. (20 claims)
