EHV standardization comes a step closer to international agreement as a result of the early July meeting of IEC technical committee 30 in Bucharest. At the CIGRE meeting in Paris in May the USSR proposed use of 750/788 kV in lieu of 700/735 kV favored by many nations. At Bucharest, all 18 nations represented, except the USSR, supported 700/735 kV.
