Linear textures and magnetic resonances in superfluid /sup 3/He-A

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., B; (United States)
The magnetic-resonance frequencies of three typical linear textures in superfluid /sup 3/He-A in a cylinder are determined. It is shown that the resonance frequencies for an axial rf field are the same as that for the bulk liquid (i.e., for uniform texture), while those for a transverse field have an additional dipole shift of the order of ..cap omega../sub A/(xi/sub perpendicular//R)/sup 2/ in excess to the bulk dipole shift, where ..cap omega../sub A/ is the Leggett frequency, xi/sub perpendicular/ is the dipolar coherence length, and R is the radius of the cylinder.
