A method and apparatus are described for improved recovery of ethylene hydrocarbons in a demethanizing zone by injecting a stream of dry ethane into a gas stream discharging from a demethanizer, separating the resultant mixture into a liquid stream and a gas stream, and recycling the liquid stream as reflux to the demethanizer.
