Research report:Chrysotile asbestos was administered to a specialized strain of mice and to four day old blastocysts in vitro. The asbestos did not affect embryo survival in the pregnant mice. The blastocysts were successfully transferred to recipient females, with a subsequent decrease in postimplantation survival. Test results did not prove asbestos to be teratogenic in mice.
