Photodissociation laser with bis(trifluoromethyl)phosphine iodide

A comparative study is made of the characteristics of the stimulated emission of photodissociation iodide lasers with the iodides CF/sub 3/I, C/sub 3/F/sub 7/I, and (CF/sub 3/)/sub 2/PI as working media. Possible mechanisms for the cutoff of lasing in these systems are examined. It is concluded that gasdynamic effects make an important contribution to the quenching.
