Scattering of. cap alpha. particles in a polarized /sup 3/He target at energies E/sub. cap alpha. / = 55--95 MeV

The angular and energy dependence of the analyzing power A/sub y/ in /sup 3/He(..cap alpha..,..cap alpha..)/sup 3/He scattering have been measured for angles theta/sub c.m.s/ = 48--138 /sup 0/ at ..cap alpha..-particle laboratories energies 55--95 MeV. Calculations of A/sub y/ have been made with use of the phase shifts proposed in analysis of the system A = 7 on the basis of the resonating group method. The experimental data on the energy dependence of A/sub y/ indicate possible resonance states at /sup 7/Be excitation energies near 30 and 40 MeV.
