A study has been made of the gas-chromatographic behavior of volatile adducts of hexafluoroacetylacetonates of americium, curium, and certain rare-earth elements with tributyl phosphate. For the purpose of suppressing decomposition and absorption of the adducts in the column, nonisotopic carriers were introduced into the column in the form of analogous compounds, or the carrier gas was saturated with hexafluoroacetylacetone. For the first time, radiochromatograms have been obtained for americium and curium compounds. Results are presented on the separation of /sup 241/Am and /sup 243/Cm from /sup 176/Lu by gas-liquid radiochromatography.
