Volatile californium /beta/-diketonate thermochromatography in /beta/-diketonate vapor

Syntheses are reported for the volatile californium acetylacetonate, dipivaloylmethanate, trifluoroacetylacetonate, and hexafluoroacetylacetonate, as well as the adduct of the hexafluoroacetylacetonate with tributyl phosphate. The thermochromatographic behavior has been examined for trace amounts of these compounds in a carrier gas saturated with the ligand vapor. The volatilities are compared from the chromatographic data.
