Winkleman Dome steam-drive project expands

Journal Article · · Oil Gas J.; (United States)
OSTI ID:6636645
Continued success with steam flooding has prompted Amoco Production Co. to expand its operation in the Nugget Zone, Winkleman Dome field, Fremont County, Wyoming. The expansion involves a 5-spot pattern to the north in a faulted zone, one to the northwest, also in an area of faulting, and one to the southeast to attempt oil recovery from near the oil-water contact. A map of the field shows Amoco's Nugget Zone steam flood. These new patterns will increase to 14 the total number of patterns in the field. They represent the second expansion since the project was last described. Current producing rate is about 850 bpd and Amoco predicts 50% recovery of oil in place. Earlier studies showed primary recovery of the 14' API crude would be a low 8% of the oil in place.
