Title: $120-million module type NGL plant moved by LASH to offshore Indonesia

The 7 modules loaded on Central Gulf's Green Island made up the bulk of a $120-million natural gas liquids (NGL) plant being built for ARCO and its partner the Indonesian-owned oil company Pertamina. The plant is the world's first totally offshore facility for the recovery, storage, and loading of natural gas liquids. When completed, it will recover about 18,000 bpd of NGL at its site in the Java Sea. Four of the platforms which will hold the modules shipped by LASH will be situated near oil-and gas-producing structures and each will be equipped with self-sufficient compressors. These flow stations will pump gas to the centrally located processing platform. Two platforms connected by a bridge, will support the process plant which was engineered and designed by Fluor. It is actually 2 units in one, the first of which is the NGL recovery facility and the second a crude stabilization plant. Fluor's turboexpander process will be used to recover liquid propane, which will be pumped to a 375,000-bbl concrete LPG storage barge. The seventh platform will support the crew quarters.
