Fiber glass-reinforced plastic (FRP) can meet the need for low-cost corrosion-resistant linepipe materials due to the increasing corrosiveness of produced fluids from existing fields and newly developed aggressive reservoirs. Experience with FRP linepipe has been good in mild to moderate service environments. Opportunities for FRP linepipe are described.
