The Short-Term Integrated Forecasting System (STIFS) was developed by the Office of Energy Markets and End Use and its predecessors within the Energy Information Administration (EIA). STIFS is the integrated system for the development of supply and demand forecasts that are published quarterly in the Short-Term Energy Outlook (Outlook). This report is written for persons who want to know how integrated short-term forecasts are produced by EIA. The demand and price forecasts for petroleum, electricity, coal, and natural gas are described in the second chapter of this report, followed by a section describing the integrating model. This report has been written to comply with the requirements specified in EIA Order EI 5910-3B, Guidelines and Procedures for Model Documentation,'' effective October 1, 1985. 24 refs., 6 figs., 72 tabs.
