Large transverse momenta from a pre-equilibrium fireball state and fireball spin

A phenomenological whole-region formula for inclusive p/sub perpendicular/ distribution at 90/sup 0/, based on the concept of varying temperature in a pre-equilibrium state, is set up and its predictions are compared with the data on ..pi../sup 0/, ..pi../sup -/, and K/sup +/ inclusive distributions at CERN ISR energies. For comparison, prediction of large-p/sub perpendicular/ distributions in the statistical bootstrap model including spin is also considered.
