Cia. Shell de Venezuela decided to install 2 miniplant compressor stations to complement 2 existing large compression platforms--Unigas I and Lagogas I--used in repressuring and gas-lifting operations in Venezuela's Lake Maracaibo. Unigas II and Lagogas II were designed as miniplants to take advantage of the cost benefits engendered by their total prefabrication, extraordinary compactness, their light weight, and virtual freedom from vibration. The miniplant compresses up to 54 million cf/day of gas from 50 psi to 2000 psi.
