Ideas and subjects discussed at an EPRI/NSF meeting on microwave-induced reactions at Asilomar Conference Center, Pacific Grove, California, in March of 1993 are contained in this Proceedings. The subjects addressed covered application of microwaves to the field of chemical synthesis and included the following topics: a review of the fundamentals and mechanisms of microwave syntheses, the hardware needs and requirements, the overall systems engineering using this technology, and potential application areas. A list of recommended subjects is presented in order of priority.
