Radioactive fallout: Annual progress report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6599556

The present Annual Report represents a summary of the work performed during the current contract year. Measurements of the levels of Sr/sup 89/, Sr/sup 90/, Ba/sup 140/, Ce/sup 141/ and Ce/sup 144/ in individual rain samples are being continued at Fayetteville, Arkansas. The isotope ratio data seem to reveal an interesting pattern of the effect of atmospheric fractionation of the nuclear debris. Studies on the behaviors of I/sup 131/, Zr/sup 95/, Tc/sup 99/, Ru/sup 103/, Ru/sup 106/, and Pm/sup 147/ in the atmosphere are in progress and some of the preliminary results are presented in this report. Gamma Spectroscopic studies on the high altitude air filter samples are also reported.
