Increasing LP-gas prices and the need for more energy are incentives which may induce the installation of facilities to recover more natural gas liquids at existing as well as new plants. Conceivably, (1) domestic ethane production could reach 620,000 bbl/day by 1977 (232,000 bbl/day more than projected by a recent study by the Federal Energy Office), (2) domestic propane supply could reach 1.09 million bbl/day in 1977 (180,000 bbl/day more than predicted by FEO), and (3) domestic supply of propane could exceed demand for the rest of this decade.
