Light-heavy-hole-mixing-induced selection rules for magneto-luminescence and valence-band energy dispersion in semiconductor quantum wells

The validity of the semiclassical approximation for the valence band structure of a QW (quantum well) was studied in a perpendicular magnetic field. The relative oscillator strengths of the main and forbidden transitions for magneto-luminescence were calculated for n-type quantum wells. 6 refs., 3 figs.
