Inclusive production of hyperons and antihyperons in nC interactions at approx. =40 GeV

The BIS-2 spectrometer has been used to investigate the inclusive production by neutrons with average energy 40 GeV on a carbon target of the hyperons ..lambda../sup 0/, ..sigma../sup +- /(1385), ..gamma../sup -/, ..gamma../sup 0/(1530), ..cap omega../sup -/ and the antihyperons Lambda-bar/sup 0/, Sigma-bar/sup +/(1385), and Xi-bar/sup -/. For ..lambda../sup 0/, ..sigma../sup +- /(1385), ..gamma../sup -/, and Lambda-bar/sup 0/ we have measured the dynamic characteristics of the production process: the exponent N which determines the dependence of the Feynman variable x of the invariant structure function F(x)--(1-x)/sup N/, and the factor B which determines the dependence of the yield of particles on their transverse momentum p/sub T/ dN-script/dp/sub T//sup 2/ proportional to exp(-Bp/sub T//sup 2/). The results are compared with data for pp interactions and partially for K/sup -/p interactions.
