Experiments on the nuclear interactions of pions. Progress report

Progress is reported on the following studies: (1) quasi-free-scattering of pions from /sup 3/He and /sup 4/He; (2) elastic scattering of pions from /sup 3/He and /sup 4/He; (3) pion absorption on /sup 3/He and /sup 4/He; (4) the reaction /sup 2/H(..pi../sup +/, 2p) at low energies; (5) quasi-free pion scattering on /sup 6/Li and /sup 12/C; (6) a study of the (..pi..,..pi.. d) reaction in /sup 6/Li, /sup 7/Li, /sup 12/C, and /sup 13/C; (7) a study of the ..delta../sup + +/ resonance in /sup 11/B; (8) search for heavy neutrinos in the decay, ..pi..+ ..-->.. ..mu..+ + nu; (9) pionium; (10) a search for fractionally charged particles; (11) measurement of the ..pi../sup -/, ..pi../sup 0/ mass difference; (12) y-scaling in the (e,e') reaction at high energies; (13) a study of the ..delta..-resonance in high energy electron scattering; and (14) CEBAF spectrometers.
