Energy demand in the OECD countries

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6584416
A technical description of the Energy Information Administration's International Energy Evaluation System's satellite model that is used to forecast energy demand for the member countries, excluding the United States, of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) is provided. The model forecasts energy demand for 1985, 1990, and 1995 by economic sectors and major energy products for each of the 22 OECD countries. The first section presents a historical description of fuel consumption patterns, growth rates, and energy/GDP ratios for the various OECD countries (including the United States), along with the structure of final energy demand in 1977. Other sections provide the theoretical structure of the demand model, econometric techniques, model parameter estimates and statistics, price elasticities, conservation savings, and documentation of data sources. 34 tables, 2 figures.
