In the framework of the nonrelativistic theory for the six-body system an attempt is made to give a dynamical description of the scattering of two nucleons. The condition of quark confinement enables one to approximate the quark Hamiltonians in each nucleon by operators of finite rank. This approximation makes it possible to solve the problem in two steps. First, the auxiliary problem of scattering of three fixed (in the nucleon) quarks on three fixed (in the second nucleon) quarks is solved. Secondly, it is shown that the elastic NN-scattering amplitude satisfies a one-dimensional integral equation, whose kernel contains the t-matrix of the auxiliary problem. The latter equation is solved numerically and the energy dependence of the S-wave phase shift and of the total elastic cross section is obtained at low energies.
