Staten Island/New Jersey urban air toxics assessment project report. Volume 4. Indoor air. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6560085
The volume presents the results and discussion for the indoor air study within the project. It reports concentrations of 12 volatile organic compounds found in two homes in Carteret, NJ, two homes in Travis, NY, and at one outdoor site near each set of homes. Two consecutive 12-hour canister samples were collected every 12 days at each location over the eight-month period from July 1990 to March 1991. Analysis of the results includes comparison of the indoor air concentrations to the outdoor concentrations; comparison of the outdoor concentrations to those reported for the two-year ambient air portion of the project; and discussion of the possible sources of the chemicals found indoors. The results are used in the risk assessment section presented in Volume V of the project report.
