Xylene isomerization with a reactivated zeolite
A process is described for converting a feedstock comprising xylene isomers to isomerization conversion product. The process comprises contacting the feedstock at conversion conditions sufficient to convert the feedstock to the product with a catalyst composition comprising a crystalline zeolite material having a silicon/aluminum atomic ratio of at least about 2. The catalyst composition is deactivated by contact with steam and reactivated by the steps of: contacting the steam-deactivated catalyst composition with an aluminum compound vapor at a temperature of from about 100/sup 0/C. to about 850/sup 0/C.; and thereafter contacting the aluminum compound contacted catalyst composition with an aqueous acid solution of from about 0.001 molar to about 10 molar at a temperature of from about 20/sup 0/C. to about 100/sup 0/C.
