Characterization of discharge waters from natural gas pipeline hydrostatic testing operations. Volume 3. Topical report, January 1989-August 1992

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6558022
Hydrostatic test waters can contain constituents such as oil and grease, iron, petroleum hydrocarbons, trace elements and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons. Various state agencies have a full range of permitting requirements for the discharge of the test water, as well as different requirements for compliance sampling and analysis. To the extent the behavior of constituents in the test water and the relationships between fill, pretest, and discharged waters can be determined, key monitoring parameters and sampling frequency may be identified to minimize the time and costs associated with the required characterization of the hydrostatic test water. The report is Volume 3 of a five-volume report series.
