Hearings were held in San Francisco, San Diego, and Washington, DC on three bills designed to protect certain areas off the California coast from the Department of Interior's oil and gas leasing program. Witnesses over the four days included legislators, state and local officials, environmental and citizen groups, the fishing and ocean industries, and the oil and gas industry.
