Transmission. Volume 2: Compressor station operations
Book
·
OSTI ID:6551575
The intent of this book is to provide the entry level engineer, the resident compressor designer, and other gas industry personnel, particularly those engaged in gas supply projects, with the fundamentals of natural gas compression from the planning through the operating phases. The following topics are covered: principal design considerations common to all types of stations concerning site selection, buildings, foundations, prime movers, gas compressors, piping, auxiliary equipment, and instrumentation; basic analytical, thermodynamic relationships applied to the gas compression process; personnel requirements, training programs, equipment performance testing, and other aspects associated with the operation of compressor stations; and routine and preventive maintenance programs including such topics as electronic analysis programs, lube oil analysis, and performance-monitoring of machinery.
