Electric compressor guidebook. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:362649
Gas pipelines, processors, and producers have traditionally used gas from operations as fuel for compressors. However, since restructuring of both gas and electric industries began, a growing fraction of new applications of gas compression use electric drives. Advantages are superior economics, low emissions, and excellent reliability. This guidebook provides an overview of factors in selection of compressors and prime movers for gas industry applications and technical background on the available options. It also provides comprehensive design know-how for compressors stations which use electric motors as prime movers.
