Water loss of maintenance free vs antimony: a comparative study

Water loss comparisons are drawn between calcium-lead maintenance free batteries, standard antimonial lead batteries, and low antimony batteries at 80/sup 0/F and at elevated temperatures. Gassing comparisons are made between these basic alloy systems at various stages of SAE J240A cycle life. Gassing characteristics of the three systems are explored at various states of charge.
