Nuclear-chemical method for the production of free carbenium ions and radiochemical investigation of the reactions of these particles with some oxygen-containing organic compounds

A nuclear-chemical method for the production of free carbenium ions and a radio-chemical method for the investigation of ion-molecular reactions involving these particles are described. The results from an investigation of the ion-molecular reactions of free methyl cations and oxygen-containing organic compounds (alcohols, ethers, esters, ketones) are given. General schemes for the ion-molecular reactions with the investigated classes of compounds are proposed on the basis of the results.
