This article considers the problem of the ignition of a semi-infinite volume of condensed fuel placed in contact with an oxidizer having a constant concentration on the contact surface. The oxidizer diffuses into the fuel and enters into a first order exothermal reaction with it. The main goal is to determine the ignition time, as defined by a derived criterion. The reaction rate dependence on temperature is specified in the Frank-Kamenetskii form. The method of defining gradients on the boundary of the semi-infinite region is used.
