There were no legislative developments in this area during 1981. The federal site-enforcement program had brought 55 civil lawsuits by the end of 1980. These were interpreted in several courts, and other decisions were made at the state level. The administration also began implementing the Superfund for waste clean-up. It revised and issued new standards under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous-waste regulations and approved state programs under RCRA. 95 references. (DCK)
