Proceedings of hearings on Senate Bill S. 2695 are recorded in this volume. This Bill would limit state coal severance taxes on Federal and Indian lands to a 12-1/2% ceiling. State coal production taxes are presently as high as 30%. Several spokesmen from Montana and Wyoming spoke against the Bill. Representatives of electric utilities spoke in support of the Bill.
