Niobium and rubidium in the barium star Zeta Capricorni

Low noise, high resolution Reticon and Digicon spectra have been subjected to an abundance analysis for the Rb to Nb series of elements in Zeta Cap, relative to the G-giant standard, Epsilon Vir. The analysis has determined an Nb abundance that is consistent with the complete decay of Zr-93 to Nb-93, so that more than 3 million years have elapsed since the principal phases of s-processing. The Rb abundance suggests a neutron density of about 10 million/cu cm at the s-process site, at the close of s-processing. 26 references.
