This patent describes a lubricant composition comprising a major proportion of a lubricating oil or grease therefrom, and a friction reducing or antioxidant amount of a product of the formula: R/sup 3/*R/sup 2/-N-R/sup 1/-NH-R/sup 3/ wherein R/sup 1/ is a C/sub 2/ to C/sub 4/ alkylene group, R/sup 2/ must be a C/sub 12/ to C/sub 30/ hydrocarbyl group and R/sup 3/ is (1) hydrogen, (2) a R/sup 4/-C-parallel O group wherein R/sup 4/ is hydrogen or a C/sub 1/ to C/sub 3/ alkyl group of (3) a C/sub 1/ to C/sub 3/ aliphatic group at least one of the R/sup 3/ groups being selected from (2).
