High molecular weight nitrogen-containing condensates and fuels and lubricants containing same
A fuel composition is described comprising a major proportion of a normally liquid fuel and a minor proportion of a polyamine comprising units of the formula: -[(Y-R[sub n])-X-2[A-NR-(Z-NR[prime])[sub x]][sub [mu]]]-R or the same formula but with three units attached to the X instead of two; wherein R is independently hydrogen or C[sub 1-7] hydrocarbyl, R[prime] is hydrogen, alkyl or NH[sub 2]R[double prime](NR[double prime])[sub y], wherein y is a number in the range from 1 to about 6 and R[double prime] is an alkylene group of 1 to about 10 carbon atoms; Y represents N or O; X is an alkylene group; A is hydrocarbyl; Z is alkylene of 1 to about 10 carbon atoms or an oxyalkylene of 1 to about 10 carbon atoms; x is a number in the range from 1 to about 10; [mu] is an integer greater than 1; and n is 0 or 1.
