MLP (Mainline Pipeline Ltd.) is a petroleum system operated since 1973, by Esso, on behalf of three other oil companies and itself. To assist in pre- and post-startup planning of the revised pipe line network, Scicon developed a computer-based system based on a Scicon program, SCI-CLOPS. This pipe line simulator applies to a wide range of pipe line networks. By using a computer-based system, Esso plans operations far more effectively than with manual methods.
