Asymmetric choice for a cluster expansion of the three-body problem

A cluster expansion of the three-body problem is constructed from an asymmetric choice of the Alt-Grassberger-Sandhas operator equations. The Karlsson-Zeiger approach is shown to lead to one choice of the effective interaction. In a model three-boson problem it is found that no numerical advantage is gained by solving the cluster expansion corresponding to the Karlsson-Zeiger choice of operators.
