Well completions and workovers. Part 17. Squeeze cementing - the systems approach

Journal Article · · Pet. Eng. Int.; (United States)

Squeeze-cementing places an uncontaminated cement slurry into a specified area of the wellbore, behind the casing, to control gas or water entry into an oil or gas zone, repair casing leaks, abandon a depleted zone or well, or repair a defective primary cement job. A successful squeeze-cement job uses clean well servicing fluids to open all the perforations in the area and displaces uncontaminated cement slurry into the area.
