Workshop on heat and mass transfer in porous media

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6522718
This volume contains the proceedings of the workshop on heat and mass transport in porous media held at Case Western Reserve University on Oct. 14-15, 1974. Its purpose was to put into perspective some of the key problem areas dealing with heat and mass transport in porous media and to recommend areas of research that might prove to be most fruitful in the future. The workshop was divided into 2 areas: fundamental approaches to transport phenomena in porous media, and application areas. The volume averaged, cell model, and continuum mechanics approaches were discussed as fundamental approaches; and the transpiration cooling, coal gasification, thermal oil recovery, and permafrost were discussed as applications.
