The phenomenon of convective heat transfer in porous media has been intensively studied over the past years due to many applications of the subject in contemporary technologies, such as storage of radioactive nuclear waste materials, transpiration cooling, separation procession chemical industries, filtration, ground water pollution, storage of grain, fruits and vegetables, to name but a few. Here, the method of extended perturbation series and its improvement are applied to the problem of free convection over a hot horizontal flat surface embedded in a porous medium. The objective is to obtain an expansion of the velocity along the wall and heat flux at the wall in power series of a parameter {beta}. The series are extended with the aid of computer up to the 18-the order. The accuracy of the present solution is discussed.
