In this work the pressure buildup behavior of a 2-well, solution gas-drive oil reservoir is studied by simulating the reservoir system on a digital computer. The purpose of the study is to determine: (1) how the pressure buildup in a shut-in well might be analyzed to estimate reservoir pressure and permeability when the conditions of 2-phase flow and well interference exist; and (2) whether the pressure behavior of a producing well which is located near a well undergoing pressure buildup can be used to develop information about average reservoir pressure and permeability. The mathematical simulation is based on 2 simultaneous nonlinear partial differential equations which describe the flow of the fluids in the reservoir. There is one equation for the oil phase, and one equation for the gas phase. Each of these equations is a combination of Darcy's Law and the continuity equation.
