Fine structure of 3C 84 and 3C 345 at 18-cm wavelength

Journal Article · · Sov. Astron. Lett. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6512124

In February 1980 the angular structure of the radio sources 3C 84 and 3C 345 was surveyed at 18-cm wavelength; the global radio interferometer network provided roughly-equal0''.0004 resolution. In 3C 84 a pair of 0''.0033 components is oriented N--S, and a pair of compact components separated by 0''.0026 is oriented in position angle 56/sup 0/. The whole source is surrounded by an extended halo 0''.045 in diameter. For 3C 345 the most distinctive features at 18 cm are the presence of a nucleus and two successive jets.
